I murdered my kindle about 15 months ago. There were tears or at least as many as could be shed given the circumstances.
It was brutal.
We were on a trip to Hungary, so of course I found myself with nothing to read - well in English anyway.
My Hungarian is functional at worst I can order Coffee without a chaperon, at best I can make Lady Pilgrim's friends and family uncomfortable by communicating my understanding of a conversation that they thought was being broadcast "in code".
But as per usual, I digress.....
When I pulled the mangled thing out of the backpack, my first thought was
I know that you’re not really a person but that’s okay. I'm not really a person either i'm more a collection of symbiotic cells that stand a better chance of existing by sticking together.
Come to think of it, that's exactly what you are too.
Congratulations on being a real boy!
Also your name is really hard to remember for some reason. It took me at least two weeks to learn it, drove the wife nuts. Why do so many people say it it NaNo Reeeemo? That sounds like something you'd find on the set of a porn shoot, and besides it just sounds silly.
Ever since I was a kid my mother would correct my speech. I hated it, hell I still hate it but that doesn’t mean she was wrong to do so. It seems that we have collectively slipped into a culture of ‘likes’.
I like this (facebook) I don’t like that (still facebook) I was all like hey dude no way and then she was all like one direction is actually like, a band. I’m sure as you’re reading this you can see where this is going.
I was reading a comic the other day (10 Grand by JMS, very, very worth the read but more on that another time) the main character sits down and a girl (potential client) starts telling him her story. When she’s done he says to her "I like how you don’t like"
Myk Pilgrim is almost exactly just like you but with much less hair. He loves to make things up and write them down. This is his blog.
