Wtf is NanowriMovember? Click here for the low down
So as at the time of writing this I am a little before the 30k mark and feeling optimistic - at least I hope this is what optimism feels like.
If it isn't I might need to talk to someone about medication.
So far it's been a very different journey from my July Camp Nanowrimo experience.
First off, life has conspired at every point along the way to stymie my efforts at a win. During July I had the good fortune of a week off to help me get ahead
(although truth be told my time usage was anything but effective) This time around lets just say that i've had to get a little more creative.
It's the age old fight of Pansers vs. Planners.
My protagonist has gone through at least three big changes so far, at present though he is something between Sheldon Cooper and Alistair Crowley (but hopefully more likeable than both - well sometimes). The real fun though has been writing his not-best friend and trying to work out how they were forced into each other’s company long term. Hint - mothers and forced sleep overs seemed to get the ball rolling.
In other news, to combat the block and also to keep me from losing my marbles as I beat my head against it. Am working on two short stories as part of my nano project which so far *crosses fingers* seems to take the pressure off when I get stuck.
They keep me writing anyway.
I should probably try and find something else to write about though, there seems to be a Lovecrafty element to just about every piece of work I’ve got so far.
Take from that what you will.
As of yesterday, my furry little lip warmer has begun to do that thing that moustaches begin to do after two weeks - itch, and I mean lot. This is the part that people seem to forget. The constant itch. Yikes!
Never the less we're half way through the month and I’m only just getting started with fund raising. Was really sorry that I didn't have the chance to do the Mo-run this year though but alas that is life.
Maybe next year?
