Blogs will be a little shorter than usual this month. By the time November closes (although the optimist in me is hoping for sooner) I want to have earned my Nanowrimo winners tee which I
pre-ordered in a fit of enthusiasm on Oct 28th.
Chicken counting anyone? No? Just me? Well okay then - Onwards to the post!
So, Lady Pilgrim has been away for the last week, the first of two. She is presently residing in an undisclosed location where her brain is being systematically filled with all kinds of wondrous new things.
To a dog watching his dinner bowl time a minute might as well be forever. The same for a kid looking forward to Christmas - these two weeks might as well be eternity.
We work, sleep, eat and play side by side although not necessarily always in that order.
We are more or less inseparable and despite what the world may tell you about right and wrong
– we very very much like it that way.
And yes, we do bicker as people in close proximity are supposed to,
but when we fight it is with purpose, and that purpose’s name is ‘Fix’.
Lady Pilgrim is my bestest best friend, the person I go to with everything.
She is the single thing that takes precedence over everything else in my world.
Without her support much of the stuff I do on a daily basis would be a very different affair,
not because I am incapable of looking after myself or even because she can’t cope
without me but rather because together we enhance each other’s lives exponentially.
Together we push each other to grow, to bloom and improve.
Not change - improve.
When you tell someone that you love them, you do it because it's true.
It's because you love them so much you can’t contain it, you have to let it out or you’ll burst.
A truth like that is not something you can contain.
Unless you're saying it because you need to hear it back, but that is it's own special can of disfigured worms. Give it a little thought through the lens of past (& present) relationships
- you might surprise yourself.
I wish you all the best in your future.
